About Us

South Carolina MENTOR opened in Columbia in 1984. Since then, the program has expanded throughout the state and thousands of individuals have found nurturing environments in which to grow and thrive. The Columbia office provides Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) services to children with emotional/behavioral issues and to children with complex medical conditions. We also provide residential treatment services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or those with acquired brain injury (ABI). Our clinical staff is available to our clients and Mentors (foster parents) to provide monitoring, support, skill development, and other services required to ensure our commitment to provide quality care for the individuals we serve.
